FEATURE FRIDAY - SIMPLE STAMPING

 

We’ve rung in the New Year, and with 2021 comes plenty of new reasons to stamp sweet cards for friends, neighbors, co‑workers, and anyone you know who could use a little cheer and encouragement. We recommend keeping your stamping simple. That way you will have tons of cards to give away in no time!

In fact, if you CASE the cards you see here, you’ll be halfway there! We added interest to these easy‑to‑make cards in three ways: We adhered Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper strips at different angles for the You Did It card and stamped directly on this same Designer Series Paper with our Cue the Confetti and Whale Done cards. You can come up with other ideas by checking social media boards or by thumbing through the catalog.

MYSTERY STAMPING CLASS - JANUARY 27

Mystery Stamping is a fun night of stamping where everyone has the same card recipe but each use their own stamp/ink/paper and embellishments.  What's fun is that it makes each finished card different.  Mystery Stamping is always the last Tuesday of the month!

Card recipe was posted Sunday with all the measurements so you can prep for our Mystery Stamping Class. Use your own stamps/ink/embellishments and create your card based on the clues during the class.

MYSTERY STAMPING CLASS - JANUARY 26, 2021

 

  CLUE #1 – GATHER YOUR SUPPLIES

•            Cardstock:  4 ¼ x 11, scored at 2 ¾ and 5 ½, fold into a Z fold pattern
•           Same color cardstock – 3 ¼ x 4 ¼
•          Use different color cardstock 3” x 4”
•         Very vanilla/white – 2 ¾ x 3 ¾
•          Scraps of very vanilla or white
•          Very vanilla/white cardstock – 4 x 5 ¼
•          Use a coordinated Designer Series Paper (DSP) for landscape card – 2 ½ x 4
•           Stamps
•            Inks for image & sentiment

FEATURE FRIDAY - Make CASEing Work for You

Famous painters look at each other’s work for ideas, and so can papercrafters! If you’re feeling stuck and need something to fan your creative spark, you have several options where you can get inspiration. Check on here on my blog or go online and check Pinterest. Or look through the Stampin’ Up! catalogs and put a check mark next to every card you love and want to CASE (Copy and Share Everything). Copy the layout, the color scheme, or the technique‑or do a combination of all three.

Stampin’ Up!’s concept artist CASEd the To a Wonderful Man card by drawing inspiration from the layout, color combo, and technique to create her hummingbird cards. Aren’t they beautiful? To duplicate her technique CASE, simply use a die cut to create a frame using the main stamped image, then pop it up using Stampin’ Dimensionals. If she can do it, so can you!    

Make a goal for 2021 to CASE on a regular basis. As you study others’ work, your skills will strengthen‑and eventually you’ll be generating unique ideas. Before long, others will be CASEing you!

FEATURE FRIDAY - BACK TO BACK BLOOMS STEP IT UP

 

Casual

To create this lovely, heartfelt card, use a Stamparatus to line up the floral images from the Back to Back Blooms Stamp Set, then stamp them in Bumblebee and Mint Macaron ink on a Basic White Cardstock layer. (We overlapped the stamping onto the Mint Macaron Cardstock card base for some extra sophistication and prettiness!) Stamp the sentiment from the Heal Your Heart Stamp Set (Free with a $50 purchase) in Mint Macaron and Misty Moonlight ink on the Basic White Cardstock label. Finally, adhere the label to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Done! You have an elegant thank you card ready to send in no time at all!

Avid

Step up the second card by adding a lacy edge to the Basic White layer using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. This additional step takes about a minute and instantly enhances the card’s beauty. Once that’s finished, adhere fussy-cut flowers from the Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper to the front of the card to create a gorgeous, full bouquet. A sprinkling of Opal Rounds completes the look. Tip: Use your Stamparatus to stamp the line art images first. Then, clean the stamp and position it to stamp the solid floral image. (Stamp off the solid image before stamping on the project.)

Artfully Avid

For our fanciest card, we fussy cut the stamped images and adhered an additional layer of Designer Series Paper to the card front. We also die cut the label using the Stitched Nested Label Dies and then—for a final touch—stamped the sentiment on Soft Sea Foam Cardstock. Isn’t it stunning? Sometimes the smallest details can make all the difference in your papercrafting!

STAMPIN' UP! SWEET ICE CREAM FAUX SHAKER CARD

I created an easy, alternative to making shaker cards without the extra steps. I used the New Sweet Ice Cream Bundle found on page 49 of the New Mini Jan-June Catalog. The fonts are beautiful too and the options are endless! I just love this entire suite of products as it can be used for many different occasions. 

I also used the FREE Saleabration product called Corner Bouquet and this stamp set is beautiful! The Designer Series Paper (DSP) called Flower & Field is also a FREE Saleabration item with a $50 order. I love the Saleabration items for FREE and you will too!
