You know what they say . . . imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Why not compliment someone today by CASEing their work? Find something you absolutely love about a card you see on my blog, Pinterest, social media, or in a Stampin’ Up! catalog—then use that inspiration to make something new and original!
Stampin’ Up!’s concept artists have been “on the CASE,” themselves. For example, the My Sweet Friend card features a color combo that they repurposed and refreshed. They used the same colors as the original but took the design in a different direction. P.S. You can do this with cards, with magazine images, or with housewares from a home furnishing shop! See a rug with striking colors? Take a picture and CASE it!
For the Congratulations card, they CASEd a look that showcased exact-fitting die-cut pieces behind the detailed die. They replaced that with “loose” paper piecing and added blocks of color behind the detailed die cut.
To create the Les petites choses card, they stamped detail on the card base vs. using a detailed die cut. The ornate background was the original inspiration; they saw it, liked it, and did it their way. They also tore the edges of the sentiment for texture. (Their little addition!)
For the Liebe card, they stamped off the hearts for a two-tone effect for a great background.
Why not see what you can copy and share from the January–June 2021 Mini Catalog . . . maybe a fabulous floral—flamingos, woodland creatures, a flowering cactus? There is just so much to choose from! Whatever you do, have fun and post your results on my Facebook page for everyone to see and enjoy!
